Mini Rosca de Reyes Donuts

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ¼ cup self-rising flour
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup cinnamon sugar

Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tsp. milk
  • Green food coloring
  • Red food coloring

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
  2. In Thatsa Jr. Bowl, add butter, sugar, egg, vanilla and buttermilk. Mix until well combined.
  3. In separate small bowl, mix flour with cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour dry ingredients into wet mixture and whisk just until combined.
  4. Transfer batter into 2-cup Micro Pitcher and use this to fill up Silicone Ring Form halfway. Bake for 10 minutes, let cool for 2 minutes then unmold. Repeat process with remaining batter.
  5. While donuts are slightly warm coat in cinnamon sugar. Then make the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl. Divide glaze into three; leave one white, mix in 5 drops of green food and 5 drops of red food coloring to the other to each bowl respectively.
  6. Add glaze to Deco Pen and decorate donuts with white, green and red stripes, let set and serve.
